Teaching and Research Assistantships are awarded competitively to graduate applicants.  Students are encouraged to submit application materials by February 1 in order to be considered for an assistantship for the fall semester.  Later applications are accepted, but assistantships may be unavailable to these applicants. Assistantship positions are for the nine-month academic year.  Currently, an assistantship pays $1,239.50/month for MS students and $1,279.50/month for PhD students.  Non-resident students with assistantships also receive a non-resident tuition waiver.  Limited fee waivers are available to the majority of full-time graduate students who are eligible.  Additional forms of financial assistance include: student loans, Dean's Tuition Waivers, Minority Incentive Tuition Waivers, Presidential Fellowships, Spouse Tuition Waivers, Social Justice Tuition Waivers, and Academic Non-resident Tuition Waivers.

All applicants are required to complete a departmental application form for graduate study in statistics.  Applicants seeking consideration for an assistantship must indicate so on this form.

The Apply web page contains all of the necessary application links.

The completed applications should be sent to the Statistics Department at the address below.  For further information about assistantships, please contact:
