Although applying for scholarships is often a time consuming activity, it can be potentially rewarding - not just monetarily, but for your resume.  There are many scholarships offered by the statistics professional societies.  Below are a few: 

• Edward C. Bryant Scholarship Trust Fund Award - Awarded to students studying survey statistics
• Gertrude Cox Scholarship - Awarded to encourage women to enter the statistics profession
• Ellis R. Ott Scholarship - For students interested in applied statistics and quality management
• National Science Foundation's Research Fellowship - For new graduate students

The Department of Statistics also offers the following awards:

• Carl Marshall Award - Presented to an outstanding graduate who has completed their Ph.D. within the last year
• Robert D. Morrison Award - Presented to an outstanding graduate who has completed their M.S. within the last year
• David L. Weeks Award - Awarded to designate and honor an outstanding statistics graduate student in Experimental Design
