The Department of Mathematics moved to the Classroom Building upon its completion in 1950.

The Quonset Hut
The Statistical Laboratory of the Department of Mathematics was housed in the Quonset ___, north of the Library from 1950 until the completion of Home Economics West. At that time it moved to new quarters in the north basement of Home Economics West.

Mathematical Sciences Building
In the summer of 1966, the University submitted a proposal to the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare for construction of a new Mathematics-Statistics-Computer Sciences building to improve graduate academic facilities. The cost of the building was estimated to be $1,277,878 and the grant requested from HEW was for $425,960. After the basic plan of the building had been decided upon by the University, consultation was held with the departments involved in designing the floor and room layout. Statistics designed the third floor layout.

The building was completed and ready for occupancy in the fall of 1968. At that time the Statistical Laboratory moved to the present location on the third floor of the Mathematical Sciences Building.
