The Department of Statistics offers consulting to researchers on the OSU campus.  The Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station (OAES) and the College of Arts & Sciences funds for these services.  Researchers outside of these funding agencies might be asked to compensate the consultant at the rate of $100-$125 per hour.  Faculty that serve as consultants are Dr. Bill Warde (0.5 FTE), Dr. Mark Payton (0.67 FTE), and Dr. Carla Goad (0.5 FTE).

It is often advised to researchers to consult with a statistician prior to the start of experimentation!  Consultants often design experiments, analyze data, and assist in the interpretation of the results.  The statistical software SAS is usually utilized in analysis.  Researchers routinely list consultants as co-authors on journal publications or paper presentations, and as co-PI’s on research grants as a reward for their service.

Individuals seeking statistical help should contact one of the above faculty members by calling the Statistics Department main office at 744-5684 or by email.
